Training at the School of Strategy training in the module “Communications”

On 16 August, the High School held a training session on the Communications module for the students of the School of Strategic Studies project.

As part of the module, a meeting of the reading club “Search for insights for strategic communications in democratic governance” was held.

The event was facilitated by Roksolana Stadnyk, Director of the Department of Information and Public Relations of the CMU Secretariat, and Tetiana Andriychuk, Deputy Head of the Division of the Department of Information and Public Relations of the CMU Secretariat.

The participants were divided into 4 subgroups, each of which chose a book to present. Four books were offered for study: Sun Tzu’s The Art of War, Lewis Michael’s The Fifth Risk, Adam Kahane’s Interaction with the Enemy. How to work with people you disagree with, dislike, and distrust”, Sebastian Junger “The Tribe. On Returning from War and Belonging to a Community”. Such facilitated book discussions help to develop analytical and critical thinking, active learning skills, creativity, flexibility, the ability to argue views and generate ideas.

In the Communications module, the students also worked on strategic communications as a process and a result, strategy implementation, and the application of the principles of verbal and non-verbal communication when communicating with media representatives.

The “School of Strategy training” Project is an innovative platform that brings together leaders of Ukrainian public administration. Therefore, the professional competencies acquired during the Communications module will help participants to conceptually change the formation of new systemic links, messages, narratives and tools for implementing information policy.
