Online meeting in the framework of the educational marathon

On 17 July, as part of the educational marathon ‘Organisation of work in the de-occupied territories’, the High School hosted an online meeting with Viktor Vitovetskyi, Director of the Department of Civil Protection of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

The educational marathon is being implemented as part of a pilot project initiated by the Government to create a reserve of government employees to work in the de-occupied territories of Ukraine. The coordinators, in addition to the High School, are the Ministry of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine and the National Agency of Ukraine on Civil Service.

To date, 814 participants have registered for the project.

The topic for discussion was civil protection in the de-occupied territories, which is part of the training module ‘Organising and Ensuring Protection of the Population from the Consequences of Emergency Situations’.

The speaker elaborated on the peculiarities of civil protection in the context of de-occupation, outlined the key tasks and challenges faced by rescuers and authorities in the liberated territories. In particular, they discussed humanitarian demining, restoration of damaged infrastructure, provision of drinking water and food, and psychological assistance. Viktor Vitovetskyi also shared the practical experience of the SES of Ukraine in the de-occupied territories, giving examples of successful rescue operations and humanitarian missions.

The participants of the online meeting had the opportunity to ask questions and receive expert answers.
