The National Training Centre of the High School, with the support of the United Nations Population Fund in Ukraine, conducted a training on “Preventing and Combating Gender-Based Violence, including Domestic Violence”.
The training was held on 21-22 March at the State University of Zhytomyr Polytechnic in accordance with the general standard programme.
The training was attended by 26 authorized persons from Zhytomyr and Zhytomyr Oblast on preventing and combating domestic violence.
According to the organizers, the aim of the training was to raise awareness of local government officials about preventing, detecting, responding to and combating gender-based violence, including domestic violence. After all, this problem is a public issue, and the state must make efforts to ensure that the response to each such case is prompt, comprehensive and qualified, from the national level to the smallest community.
For two days, the participants discussed the forms, dynamics, stereotypes and assistance to victims of gender-based violence and domestic violence. They also reviewed European and national legislation in this area. They also considered the specifics of interagency cooperation and coordination of various actors at the central, regional and local levels.
Upon successful completion of the course, participants received state-issued certificates.
