On June 6 and 7, the National Training Centre for Combating Gender-Based Violence of the High School conducted a training on “Development of the National System for Preventing and Combating Domestic Violence and/or Gender-Based Violence at the Local Level”.

The training was attended by 23 specialists from the National Social Service of Ukraine from different regions. This short-term professional development programme provided an opportunity to deepen knowledge of international and national regulations on preventing and combating gender-based violence, raise awareness of the concepts, forms, causes and consequences of gender-based violence, and learn best practices for coordinating interagency cooperation in this area. In addition, the participants will discuss in detail support services, basic services provided to victims, get acquainted with the algorithm of actions and the scheme of interaction on preventing and combating violence at the level of the territorial community, find out who is responsible for violating the legislation in this area, and gain knowledge and skills to create an effective system for preventing and combating domestic violence.

Such trainings are aimed at effectively responding to the challenges posed by the increasing number of victims of wartime violence and providing timely and quality assistance.

The project is being implemented in cooperation with the United Nations Population Fund in Ukraine – UNFPA Ukraine.
