On 10 October, representatives of the High School took part in a seminar on gender-responsive budgeting in Ukraine.

The event was organised by UN Women in Ukraine with the support of the Office of the Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine and the Government Commissioner for Gender Policy. The seminar was held as part of an international expert mission to conduct a comprehensive assessment of gender-responsive budgeting (GRB), which is taking place from 4 to 13 October 2023.

During the plenary discussions, the workshop participants learnt about international experience in the field of GRB, global trends and prospects in this area. They also discussed the results of its implementation in Ukraine and the activities in this area that have been carried out in our country since 2021. As a result of the workshop, the strategic course of future GRB initiatives and further steps for scaling up and applying them in Ukraine were determined.

It should be noted that the development of gender competence of public servants and local government officials is one of the key tasks of the High School of Public Governance. The High School has a national training centre for preventing and combating domestic violence and gender-based violence. A number of programmes on gender policy, human rights and non-discrimination are constantly being developed and implemented.
