The book Ukraine does not remain silent: A Chronicle of Combating CRSV (2022-2024), edited by Kateryna Levchenko, Government Commissioner for Gender Policy, is a unique collection of documentary evidence highlighting the fight against armed conflict-related sexual violence. The publication covers a wide range of topics: from the stories of victims to the analysis of measures taken by government and civil society organisations to counter this phenomenon.
The book includes 25 interviews that provide a multifaceted view of the problem. Among them is a joint interview with Natalia Alushyna, Head of the National Agency of Ukraine on Civil Service, and YulLiia Lykhach, Head of the High School of Public Governance. It reveals the role of state institutions in creating a system of support for victims and prevention of sexual violence during the war.
Sexual violence related to the armed conflict remains one of the most acute and painful problems in modern Ukraine. This phenomenon has a devastating impact on the lives of victims, causing profound social and psychological consequences. At the same time, it requires joint efforts of the state, civil society and international organisations to overcome the consequences and create effective prevention mechanisms.
