on 9 and 10 May, the National Training Centre of the High School held a training on “Preventing and Counteracting Gender-Based Violence, including Domestic Violence” at the Kremenchuk City Council. The training was attended by 23 people – deputy heads of territorial communities and heads of structural units. The training was supported by the United Nations Population Fund in Ukraine.

Over the course of two days, the trainees discussed the types and manifestations of domestic violence, possible causes and stereotypes about domestic and gender-based violence in society. In a game-like format, the participants learned the stages of changing social norms to prevent domestic and gender-based violence in communities in order to successfully create projects on this topic and implement the proposed initiatives.

Since the beginning of the year, the National Training Centre has organised 5 trainings at regional in-service training centres under the standard general short-term programme “Preventing and Combating Gender-Based Violence, including Domestic Violence”. Training certificates were issued to 123 participants, including authorised persons of territorial communities who act as coordinators for preventing and combating domestic violence.
