On 3 September, the High School started the training ‘Organisation of a shelter for victims of domestic and/or gender-based violence’.

The training is being implemented jointly with the National Social Service of Ukraine in cooperation with the United Nations Population Fund in Ukraine – UNFPA Ukraine.

The trainers of the High School, Oleksandra Trach and Ruslan Gorchynskyi, will work with 23 social workers from shelters for three days.

During the training, the participants will look at the concepts of gender and domestic violence, as well as international standards and the national system of preventing and combating it.

They will focus on interagency cooperation in the field of preventing and combating domestic violence and/or gender-based violence. They will also consider the organisation of a shelter for victims, as well as the specifics and forms of service provision.

A separate block will focus on practical experience in documenting social services (basic) and organising interaction between general and specialised support services. The training will also cover psycho-emotional preparation for working with victims, prevention of professional burnout, and personal resource mapping.
