On 17-18 April, the National Training Centre of the High School is conducting a training on ‘Preventing and Counteracting Gender-Based Violence, including Domestic Violence’. The training is supported by the United Nations Population Fund in Ukraine and is based on a common standard programme at the Volyn Regional Centre for Advanced Training (Lutsk).
The training is attended by authorised persons – coordinators whose responsibilities include the prevention and combating of domestic violence.
The purpose of the training is to raise awareness of local government officials on the prevention, detection, response and counteraction to gender-based violence, including domestic violence, and to develop skills in applying a comprehensive integrated approach to responding to cases of gender-based violence, including domestic violence.
In addition to enhancing professional competence, the trainings allow coordinators to establish links with other professionals working on domestic violence and learn about available resources and services in their community.
Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a state-issued certificate.
It should be noted that the National Training Centre systematically organises training for key stakeholders and develops new training programmes and courses. In the fourth quarter of 2023 alone, 8 events were held in Kyiv, Ternopil, Zakarpattia and Kyiv regions, attended by 324 specialists working on preventing and combating gender-based violence, including domestic violence.
