The urgency of the problem of domestic violence requires the introduction of new approaches to its solution and professionals who are familiar with international standards and best practices.
To this end, the National Training Centre on Prevention and Counteraction to Gender-Based and Domestic Violence of the High School, with the support of the United Nations Population Fund in Ukraine, organised and conducted a three-day training of trainers (ToT) on combating domestic violence.

According to Yuliia Lykhach, Director of the High School of Public Governance, the training of trainers is a unique programme that brings together the experience of trainers and the best tools for creating, conducting training and working with a group. This training is aimed at developing coaching skills and competencies, filled with exercises and practice.

During 2-4 October 2023, 20 public servants, employees of educational and research institutions, institutions and organisations were trained under a special short-term programme “Using training technologies in the organisation of training on combating gender-based and domestic violence and providing assistance to victims”.

During the training, the participants improved their coaching skills on international and national legislation, the main tools, forms and types of assistance to victims. Each topic of discussion included practical work, presentations of best practices, brainstorming sessions, discussions and reports from the trainers. As a result of the training, participants received certificates and will be involved in the process of implementing educational activities in the field of postgraduate education for civil servants and local government officials

The Director of the High School of Public Governance, Yuliia Lykhach, congratulated the participants on the successful completion of the training and expressed hope that the knowledge and skills gained would be applied in the implementation of advanced training programmes on preventing and combating domestic violence.
