On 19 June, a working meeting was held with Stella Ronner-Grubačić, Gender and Diversity Ambassador, Kateryna Levchenko, Government Commissioner for Gender Policy, and focal points for equal rights and opportunities for women and men.

The topic of the meeting was the discussion of current issues and the attention paid by the European Union to the importance and significance of gender equality as a component of government policy.

During the discussion round, Yuliia Lykhach, Director of the High School of Public Governance, spoke about the advanced training of public servants and local government officials on equal rights and opportunities for women and men at the High School of Public Governance. In particular, in 2023, it is planned to develop and implement a number of new gender equality programmes designed to highlight the issues of gender-sensitive governance and response to the humanitarian crisis, studying the needs of different groups of women and men and establishing communication, proper response to conflict-related sexual violence and assistance to victims, etc.

Online courses are being actively developed and used as training tools. Two online courses on combating discrimination and ensuring gender equality in the public service are currently being developed in cooperation with UN Women and the National Democratic Institute.

The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Ministry of Social Policy, the Ministry of Education and Science, the Ministry of Veterans Affairs, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Economy, and the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy.
