On 6 September, the final stage of training took place within the framework of the School of Strategic Training project, implemented by the High School of Public Governance jointly with the National Agency of Ukraine on Civil Service and with the support of the Support to Ukraine’s Government Reforms (SURGe) project.

The aim of the project was to develop a modern managerial outlook among public service top managers through the acquisition of competencies that require strategic vision, understanding of strategic management models, the ability to prepare and implement development strategies, form teams and achieve teamwork, and demonstrate leadership to implement the changes needed in the post-war reconstruction.

All the mandatory and optional modules of the course were successfully completed by 42 students, all of whom are category A public servants, and they received certificates.

The training cases taught by experienced teachers and trainers included strategies for the development of certain areas of public administration, individual government agencies and personal development of the manager.
On the final day of the training, Nataliia Aliushyna, Head of the National Agency of Ukraine on Civil Service, conducted a training on the module “Techniques and tools for regular management in the public sector”. The Head of the NAUCS spoke about the main management styles and their practical components, the formation of effective interaction between managers and subordinates, modern approaches to leadership development in public authorities, etc.

“Ensuring the individual trajectory of professional development of persons holding political positions and public servants of category A is one of the key objectives of the School’s educational programmes,” said Yuliia Lykhach, Director of the School, during the presentation of the certificates. “Therefore, the launch of the School of Strategy training is another important step in the formation of a new generation of public servants who will lead our country not only to victory but also transform it to a new level.”
