On 10 December, the whole world celebrates Human Rights Day, an important date that reminds us of the inherent dignity of every human being and the need to respect fundamental freedoms. The High School of Public Governance sincerely congratulates you on this remarkable holiday and calls on you to remember the value of human rights in the formation of a just and democratic society.

Human rights are particularly affected in times of war. In Ukraine, thousands of citizens are deprived of access to housing, education and healthcare, and are subjected to violence and discrimination. In such circumstances, it is extremely important to train highly qualified professionals who can protect people’s rights even in crisis situations. Ensuring equality, legality and social justice is a key task for Ukraine as a democratic state. The educational programmes of the High School of Public Governance are a contribution to the development of a conscious society and the reconstruction of the country based on respect for the rights of every citizen.

The High School of Public Governance consistently supports human rights through educational programmes and initiatives. In 2023-2024, a total of 979 people were trained in human rights-related areas at the High School of Public Governance. The main areas of training included professional development programmes, such as Human Rights, short-term programmes, such as Ensuring the Rule of Law, Protection of Rights, Freedoms and Legitimate Interests of Citizens, and specialised trainings, such as Training for Trainers on Human Rights for Public Servants. The participants of these programmes were civil servants of categories B and C, as well as local government officials. In 2023, 619 people were trained, and in 2024, 360 people were trained.
