“Gender-oriented governance in Ukraine”

On 8-9 August 2023, a training on gender-responsive governance was held as part of the School of Gender Mainstreaming educational project.

The trainers Oksana Yarosh, Doctor of Political Science, consultant at the National Democratic Institute, and Natalia Tarasenko, Advisor to the Head of the Zhytomyr Regional State Administration, NDI expert on gender-oriented governance, worked with the participants for two days.

The practical work in the groups covered the following areas: the essence of gender-oriented governance, gender-oriented governance and sustainable development goals, and the institutional mechanism for the formation and implementation of gender policy in Ukraine.

In addition, the participants discussed the powers of the Commissioners for Ensuring Equal Rights and Opportunities for Women and Men in Ukraine and the tools for their implementation, gender-oriented corporate culture of public authorities and the tools for its formation, and gender audit of public authorities.
