The High School of Public Governance and the Denis Mukwege Foundation signed a Memorandum of Partnership and Cooperation.

The Memorandum outlines the main areas of cooperation between the parties in the field of professional development for public servants, as well as the implementation of joint educational, scientific and practical initiatives.

The partnership aims to combine the efforts of both institutions in organising joint educational and research activities, facilitating the exchange of expertise, strengthening international cooperation, and promoting modern approaches to the professional development of civil servants and local government officials.

Particular attention will be given to the comprehensive prevention of and response to conflict-related sexual violence (CRSV), with a strong survivor-centred approach that addresses the needs of those affected.

Key areas of cooperation include the development and implementation of training programmes for public servants, as well as the establishment of shared approaches to the content, formats and methodologies of professional learning on preventing and responding to CRSV.

Within the framework of the partnership, the parties will also cooperate in organising international and national educational events, study visits and research initiatives aimed at strengthening the professional competencies of public servants and promoting international best practices in this field.

The signing of the Memorandum marks an important step towards strengthening the institutional capacity of Ukraine’s public service to protect the rights of survivors of conflict-related sexual violence and to further embed human-centred approaches in the work of public authorities and local self-government bodies.
