Yuliia Lykhach, Director of the High School of Public Governance, took part in the roundtable discussion “One year of work of the Dr. Dennis Mukwege Foundation on the implementation of the holistic model of assistance to victims of CRSV in Ukraine: main achievements, challenges, plans for the next year”
The event, which took place on 25 July 2023 at the Ukrinform press centre, was organised by the The Dr. Denis Mukwege Foundation in partnership with the Office of the Government Commissioner for Gender Policy and the Office of the Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration.
“Training on the topic of VAWG is very relevant,” said Yuliia Lykhach in her speech. “A number of programmes are already being implemented jointly with the National Agency. We have initiated the collection of needs from the authorities and have many orders for training specialists who will be able to competently assist victims. Today, it is important to develop a unified approach to the content, forms and methods of advanced training for public servants and employees of public administration bodies on preventing and combating CRSV. It is for this purpose that the High School of Public Governance and the Dr. Denis Mukwege Foundation signed a Memorandum of Cooperation to implement measures and join efforts to develop programmes for comprehensive prevention and response to conflict-related sexual violence.”
It is worth noting that a national training centre on preventing and combating domestic violence and gender-based violence was established on the basis of the High School, which also focuses on the issue of CRSV.
The High School of Public Governance has also completed the preparation of an online course based on the model programme on CRSV.
In August, the Summer School of Training Skilfulness will start, which will include training for specialists on domestic violence, gender-based violence and war-related sexual violence.
