As part of the memorandum signed between the High School of Public Governance and the State Institution ‘Probation Centre’, on 21-22 August, the National Training Centre for Prevention and Counteraction to Gender-Based Violence conducted training on the standard training programme ‘Prevention and Counteraction to Gender-Based Violence, including Domestic Violence’.
The training was attended by 22 representatives of branches of the State Institution ‘Probation Centre’ from different regions of Ukraine.
Nataliia Shcherbak, Head of the National Training Centre and Deputy Director of the State Institution ‘Probation Centre’, welcomed the participants and noted that advanced training on this topic is an extremely important step towards eradicating and creating zero tolerance for gender-based violence and domestic violence.
The participants of the training had the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of international and national legal acts on preventing and combating gender-based violence, raise awareness of the concepts, forms, causes and consequences of gender-based violence. In addition, to discuss in detail the support services, basic services provided to victims, to get acquainted with the algorithm of actions and the scheme of interaction on the issues of preventing and combating violence, to find out the responsibility for violating the legislation in this area, to gain knowledge and skills to create an effective system of preventing and combating domestic violence.
Such trainings are aimed at effectively responding to the challenges posed by the increasing number of victims of war-related violence and providing timely and quality assistance.
For two days, experienced trainers worked with the students – Viktor Valchuk, a national expert and trainer on preventing and combating domestic and gender-based violence and combating human trafficking, and Ruslan Horchynskyi, a trainer at the National Training Centre for Preventing and Combating Gender-Based Violence.
