On 9 July, the School of Strategy Training started a new intake of students. This time, 32 civil servants of category A from 27 authorities began training under an educational project launched by the High School together with the National Agency of Ukraine on Civil Service and with the support of the Support to Ukraine’s Government Reforms (SURGe) project.
Senior managers must have new competencies to implement a strategic approach to public administration. These include understanding strategic management models, preparing and implementing development strategies, team building and effective team interaction, leadership for change, organisational transformation and strategic planning. All of these issues are covered by the School of Strategy Training.
The training for the new intake of students will consist of 4 face-to-face meetings.
The modules ‘Policy Strategy’ and ‘Organisational Strategy’ will be presented by SURGe project strategic planning experts Maria Plaksenko, Iryna Lazorevych, Natalia Korolyuk, Khrystyna Zhovoglyad, and Anna Kruk. Experts from the Centre for Strategic Communications and Information Security, Ihor Solovey and Viktoriia Zrazhevska, will share their knowledge on the Communication Strategy. ‘Ethical Dilemmas of a Leader in Management Decision-Making’ will be covered by Nataliia Aliushyna, Head of the National Agency of Ukraine on Civil Service, and Oleksandr Novikov, Head of the NACP 2020-2024.
In addition, 4 selective online modules will be held in late July: Building a Barrier-Free Space, Artificial Intelligence in Public Service, Mental Health Support and Communication with Veterans, and Leadership Methodology.
As part of the project, 62 category A civil servants have already mastered the practical skills of developing strategies for the development of a management object and making management decisions in various areas of public life.
