Two months ago, the High School launched a new English-language project called Speaking club. As a result, 45 civil servants from 39 government agencies responsible for European integration have received certificates of professional development.
Every week, 10 classes of 2 academic hours each, the Speaking Club participants had the opportunity to improve their spoken English and strengthen their communication skills. The training was based on a minimum of theory and maximum practice.
Together with a professional trainer, Oleksandr Gransky, Senior Lecturer in English, Faculty of Tourism, Business and Psychology, Kyiv National Linguistic University, the students were literally immersed in the English-speaking environment, discussing films and books, sharing experiences and completing interactive tasks. All these components contributed to fluency in English.
This format of the short-term certificate programme “Everyday communication” not only helped to improve oral and written communication skills and expand vocabulary, but also undoubtedly contributed to the personal development of the students.
So, we can say that the first intake of the Speaking club has been successfully completed. And since the educational project has aroused great interest among public servants of various levels, we plan to continue the training in the near future.
It should also be noted that the High School implements many foreign language projects and programmes in different formats and for different levels of training, which are practical and focused on developing the skills necessary to work in public administration.
