Head of the High School Yuliia Lykhach took part in a mentoring meeting for public servants and community leaders of Mykolaiv region ‘Leadership on the way to EU accession’.
The organisers set out to explore mentoring and leadership in the public service, the impact of European integration processes on inclusive recovery and human capital development, discuss the gender dimension of leadership, the role of media education and media literacy, methods of countering disinformation, consider psycho-emotional challenges in times of war, and improve communication within the framework of EU integration and post-war recovery.
It should be noted that the programme ‘Mentoring for Leaders: European Integration and Recovery of Ukraine’ is implemented by the NGO “UA Experts” at the initiative of the Office of the Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine and with the support of the USAID Ukraine Confidence Building Initiative (UCBI).
In her speech ‘Peculiarities of Mentoring in Public Service’, Yuliia Lykhach spoke about the High School’s educational programmes and projects aimed at providing practical knowledge on European integration, Ukraine’s recovery, and mentoring. ‘The future recovery of Ukraine and its successful integration into the European Union requires leaders of the new time – competent, motivated and open to new ideas. This is why the Mentoring for Leaders programme was launched,’ said Yulia Likhach, “Our meeting is only the first step towards the educational opportunities offered by the School.”
In addition to the professional training programmes, the School annually organises the Promo Day in Public Service, the All-Ukrainian Youth Creative Work Competition and other initiatives to attract young people to public service. Young people can also join the personnel reserve for the restoration of the de-occupied territories of Ukraine and get a chance to become public servants and participate in the reconstruction of the country. The Head of the institution explained how internships in state and local government bodies are conducted and what benefits this tool provides to young professionals.
During the event, the participants also had the opportunity to discuss topical issues with Natalia Oksha, Deputy Head of the Department of Information and Public Relations of the CMU Secretariat, Iryna Subota, data analyst at the Centre for Strategic Communications and Information Security, and Natalia Sablina, Head of the International Association of Psychologists and Expert Trainers and Director of the Natalia Sablina Training Centre.
