On 16 November, future master’s graduates in public management and administration took the Unified State Qualification Exam at the High School of Public Governance. This is a form of learning outcomes control and assessment defined by the standard of professional higher education and used in European countries. And since 2021, it has been implemented in Ukraine.

It is not the first time that masters of the speciality “Public Management and Administration” have taken the USQE at the High School of Public Governance.

“As an employer, it is important for the NAUCS to understand the objective assessment of learning outcomes and the overall educational activities of higher education institutions that provide training in the speciality of Public Administration. Therefore, we have become partners with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine in introducing uniform fair approaches to the certification of students in this speciality,” said Nataliia Aliushyna, Head of the NAUCS, in her welcoming speech.

This year, 100 students of the Educational and Research Institute of Public Administration and Civil Service of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv joined the Centre for the Evaluation of Candidates for Civil Service Positions of the Higher School to take the USQE. In addition, 19 students of the State Higher Education Institution “University of Educational Management” of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine took the assessment in the main building of the High School.

The qualification exam is conducted to test the readiness of graduates of higher education institutions to independently solve complex tasks and problems in the field of public management and administration by establishing the compliance of the achieved learning outcomes with the requirements of the standard in the relevant speciality.
