The Director of the High School of Public Governance Yuliia Lykhach took part in an expert discussion, during which the interim results of the study on access to guarantees for people deprived of personal freedom, as well as people whose housing was damaged or destroyed as a result of the war were presented.

The event brought together representatives of state authorities, human rights organizations, international institutions, the scientific and expert community.
During the panel discussion, Yuliia Lykhach spoke about the experience of the High School in training specialists working with victims of war, and about programs for developing their professional skills.
The High School systematically works on developing the professional competencies of public servants in the field of transitional justice, protection of the rights of victims, and preparation for the processes of restoration and reintegration of territories. In particular, last year, together with partners, a short-term training program “Transitional Justice in the Professional Activities of Public Servants: a practical dimension” was developed, training was organized for trainers, a Summer school of coaching skills and a series of open lectures on transitional justice were held,” noted Yuliia Lykhach.

She also emphasized that the cooperation between the High School and partners on transitional justice issues continues this year.

During the event, the participants discussed current challenges in ensuring the rights of victims, mechanisms for restoring justice, and developing recommendations for improving state policy in this area. The interim results of the study on access of victims to guarantees and mechanisms for protecting rights were also presented.

The meeting program consisted of two thematic discussions, each of which ended in a “question-and-answer” format. Participants actively participated in the discussion, asked questions to the speakers, and shared their own thoughts and practical experience.

The event became a space for a professional discussion on current challenges in ensuring the rights of victims, mechanisms for restoring justice, and improving state policy in this area.
