Yuliia Lykhach, Director of the High School of Public Governance, participated in the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2026, which took place on June 25–26 in Gdańsk, Poland.

As part of the conference High School participated in an international workshop dedicated to the role of gender equality in Ukraine’s recovery and European integration processes, and also signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the University of Iceland, which implements the Gender Equality Studies and Training Program (GEST).

The workshop “Gender Equality in the EU Accession Process and Reconstruction as a Driving Force for Ukraine’s Transformation” brought together representatives from governments, international organizations, donor agencies, and the expert community. Participants discussed practical mechanisms for integrating gender equality principles into recovery policies, the European integration process, and the public administration system. Particular attention was paid to human capital development, strengthening institutional capacity, and the transition from political commitments to concrete decisions that can be implemented at the national, regional, and local levels.

One of the practical results of the High School’s participation in the URC 2026 was the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation and Partnership between the High School of Public Governance and the University of Iceland (GRÓ GEST). The document opens up new opportunities for joint implementation of educational programs, professional training, internships, seminars, academic exchange programs, digital learning, and leadership development in the areas of gender equality and public administration. The parties will pay particular attention to the use of online courses and digital educational resources to develop the professional competencies of public servants.

Gender equality is today an integral part of quality public administration and Ukraine’s sustainable recovery. It is important for the High School that Ukrainian public servants have access to the best international practices and modern approaches that will help them implement European standards in their daily work,” said Yuliia Lykhach, Director of the High School.

The partnership between the High School and GRÓ GEST will serve as a platform for long-term cooperation in the areas of professional education, human capital development, gender equality, and strengthening Ukraine’s institutional capacity in the context of recovery and European integration.
